How the data is collected

Where facts come from

Every fact on a platform profile is taken from that platform's own public pages, such as its FAQ, help pages and terms. A program reads those pages about once a week. Each fact links to the page it came from and shows the sentence it was taken from.

What Earnington does not do

Earnington does not test platforms, does not work on them, and does not collect or publish reviews. A profile tells you what a platform says about itself. It does not tell you whether the platform keeps to it.

What the dates mean

"Checked" is the last date the source page was read and still said the same thing. A fact that has not been confirmed in over 45 days is labelled. "Not stated" means the pages we read do not say.

Mistakes

Facts are read from pages by software, with a check that the quoted sentence is really on the page. Errors are still possible. Always confirm on the platform's own site before you rely on anything here.

Referral links

Some "Visit" buttons are referral links, and Earnington may be paid if you sign up through one. Those buttons are marked. Platforms are listed whether or not they have a referral programme, and it does not affect what a profile says.

The crawler

Pages are fetched by EarningtonBot, which follows robots.txt and visits each watched page about once a week.
